Alex Karev is one of my favorite characters on Grey’s Anatomy, if not my very favorite. He’s one of the characters that feels the most real to me. He’s inconsistently good and bad, and not really easy to love. He doesn’t know how to treat other people and more often then not, he hurts them. I think he’s a wonderful representation of how some people go through life, never really ever changing or becoming any better. Two steps forward, two steps back. A lot of people dislike him for this, a lot of people hate him for this. They don’t understand how he can be one way and then another. I see Alex as someone who needs to be loved, regardless. He needs it, which is why it broke my heart to watch him unravel on my television, as he told his friends that his wife, Izzie had left him and for reasons out of his control. I don’t like her anymore, I can’t. But, you know what? I wish she would come back, because I know he loves her.
